5.2 Recording over locally connected android device

Recording over Locally connected Mobile device:

OpKey allows you to perform recording over locally connected mobile devices as well. But, you must register your locally device(s) before starting recording process.

Before starting recording on Locally connected mobile device, make sure that the OpKey Agent is installed on your machine.

 

Go to the Tools menu > Mobile Management > Device Management > Select your running Execution Agent > Click on Register icon for selected device.

Let us proceed to the recording over locally connected device…

Create a Test Case file > Click to the Record button > Select Mobile Recorder

In the next step of mobile recording, you need to select a location of saving the ‘Object Repository’ File where fetched objects will be saved. There are two options of saving objects: Default Object Repository and Choose Object Repository.

If you select “Default Object Repository” option, then an object repository will be created automatically in the selected folder & your objects will be saved in that object repository.

If you select “Choose Object Repository” then you can create or choose an existing Object Repository to save objects.

Let us select Default Object Repository and pCloudy and proceed recording session.

From here, you can select your android application from the dropdown list and device from the device list. Click on ‘Finish’ to proceed.

Select your Local running Execution Agent > Select connected Mobile device > Select your Mobile Application

Now, your app is being installed

You can view your connected device from the OpKey MobiCast. Go to the Mobile tab in the Agent and click on the MobiCast corresponding to the connected device.

Here, you can see that your selected application opens on connected device. It lets you tap or type on desired object which has to be recorded.

Here, you can see list of actions performed while recording along with objects and their properties.

Click on “Stop and Save” button to save recorded test steps to your test case.

You can see the Test Case file created by recording actions performed on mobile. You can now playback this recorded test case and analyze your execution result as well.

You can have a look at the Object Repository created automatically.

Now, you can execute the newly created Test Case on locally connected device by clicking on Run Now or Debug Now button and analyze the execution result.

If you want to execute this Test Case on pCloudy device (cloud platform) then you need to add this Test Case in a Suite and click on Run on pCloudy. Before executing Suite on pCloudy, you should ensure that you have enough credits on pCloudy to execute your Test successfully.
