3.5 Opkey Web Dashboard

OpKey Web is a codeless test automation platform providing a comprehensive in-depth solution for all agile focussed enterprises automating their desktop, web, and mobile applications. It is a cloud-based test automation platform that can easily automate your test cases without writing a single line of code. OpKey Web is empowered by OpKey Smart Recorder which provides different recording modes like Desktop, Web, Mobile, and Oracle for recording actions from corresponding applications. 

 

Select “Continuous Test Automation” from OpKey Launchpad to launch the OpKey Web portal.

A page opens up as referred to in the image below.

 

The OpKey Web Dashboard opens up to page with a Dialler at the top, different sections displaying details on the page, and icons for different functionalities on the left panel as well as below the Search Icon.

Let us have a look at each icon present on the left panel:

  1. The OpKey Launchpad Icon – This icon will redirect to a page consisting of all OpKey Applications at one place. 

 

The Launchpad is a common platform to access all the OpKey applications in a single place without switching between the portals. You’ll have to click the respective icon to launch the application and use its functionalities.

2. The Tools Icon – The tools icon lets you work with multiple Tools and Settings. On clicking the icon it will redirect you to a list of Settings and Tools to choose from to work with.

 

You can choose multiple functionalities to work with the Tools icon.

 

3. The Switch Project Icon – This icon lets you switch between projects while working.

The pop-up displays the list of projects to switch between while working.

4. The Notification Icon – This icon displays all the latest notifications.

5. The Addon Launcher – This icon displays all the subscribed addons from the OpKey Marketplace. 

The Manage Addons tab will open up the OpKey Marketplace page where all the listed add-ons can be viewed to be subscribed and used.

6. The Project Workspace Icon – 

7. The Execution Result Icon – This icon will display the Execution Result of the Test Cases of their respective builds.

 

 

8. The Help Icon – This icon will redirect you to the Help section of OpKey, where all features and functionalities of OpKey have been explained in detail.

9. Settings – The Settings tab will redirect you to the admin panel section of Opkey, where you can change your details as a user.

It also lets you log out from the application.

Let us now have a look at the icons present below the Search Bar.

 

There are 7 tabs present below the Search Bar. Let us now discuss each tab in detail:

 

1. Create New Artifact – This tab will allow the user to create a new artifact present on OpKey Web of Test Case, Function Library, Suite, Gherkin, Service Repository, Object Repository, Global Data Repository Coded Function Library, Model.

2. Create New Folder – This tab will allow the user to Create a New Folder in the Project Workspace.

3. Delete – This tab will allow the user to Delete the selected folder in the Project Workspace. 

4. Rename – This tab will allow the user to Rename the selected folder in the Project Workspace.

5. Refresh – This tab will allow the user to Refresh the Project Workspace.

6. Import Artifact – This tab will allow the user to Import the created artifact.

7. Sort – This tab will allow the user to Sort the Folders in the Project workspace in the Ascending order or in Descending Order.

 

The Artifacts Dialler present on the Dashboard of OpKey Web allows the user to create New artifacts on the Project Workspace.

The Dialler has 9 Artifacts of : 

Test Case – Test Case is a collection of Test Steps that contain a Keyword, a Control Flow Construct, or a Function Library. This module is integrated with the Recording Feature which helps while recording the actions performed on a web application.  

 

Function Library – Function Library is a reusable component that can be used multiple times across same or different Test Cases. These functions are user actions which can be repetitive. The functions made in this module can be further used among different Test Cases in the form of Test Steps.

 

Gherkin – Gherkin is a line-oriented language that uses indentation to define structure. Line endings terminate statements and either spaces or tabs may be used for indentation. Most lines in Gherkin start with a special keyword. Most lines in Gherkin start with a special keyword. 

 

Model – 

 

Coded Function Library – The Coded Function Library is an advanced feature of OpKey Web. Coded Function editor provides you a platform where you can write your own function code of tasks to be performed in test automation. Once, they are written in Java, you can compile Java codes and debug easily. You can execute your Coded Function directly or map them with Test Case and execute them. 

 

Object Repository – Object Repository is a collection of objects of the web application upon which actions are performed during test execution. OpKey tests the dynamically changing application by identifying and fetching the objects from web application along with their expected values and properties. You can easily fetch objects, create object repository and gather information for testing the web application.

 

Global Data Repository – Global Data repository is a data storage and management feature consisting of a set of data used in the software testing. The data in the Global Data repository can be used while parameterizing the test during test iteration. 

 

Service Repository – The Web Services Repository stores information about Web Services. The WSDL files that contain these WEB services definitions are stored together with their related XML schemas. 

 

Suite In OpKey, Suite is a collection of Test Cases for execution. There may be one or more than one Test Cases/Gherkin files for execution. Each Test Case in a Suite should be complete in itself and independent of other Test Cases. You can add, remove, move up/down Test Cases and rearrange them as per their order of execution.

The section just below the dialler section is of “Recently Used Artifacts in Folder”Project Workspace.

This section will display the latest ten artifacts used in the Folder.

The section below this is of Artifacts Share in Folder: Project Workspace.

This section of the dashboard will display the share of the artifacts in the Folder. 

The section on the top right of the dashboard will display the Last Tested Build.

This section will display the Current Executing Build in OpKey Web.

 

The next section displays the Last Executed Test in OpKey Web.
