19.2 Mobile Management
OpKey Tools menu have Mobile Management as the dropdown option in Tools menu that helps the user to manage your devices as well as applications.
- Go to the Tools menu > Click Mobile Management.
Mobile Management feature helps you to manage your devices as well as applications. Registration of every device (on which testing has to be performed) is compulsory.
(1) Application Management:
Here, you can manage your android/iOS applications which can be further used for testing on mobile devices.
- Click on ‘Add New Application(s)’ button to add new android/iOS applications.
- Click on ‘Upload Instrumented Application(s)‘ to upload instrumented applications. (For iOS App instrumentation, please refer iOS App Instrumentation)
- Click on ‘Add new applications from pCloudy‘ to add new apps from the pCloudy.
- Click on ‘Save’ button to save all the changes done.
- Click on ‘Delete Selected Application(s)’ button to delete selected android/iOS applications.
- Click on ‘Refresh’ button to refresh Application’s grid.
- Type name of your application in ‘Search Bar’ to be searched from the list of uploaded applications.
- ‘Pending Uploads‘ shows applications (iOS/Android) which are in progress while uploading.
Note: Now, you need to instrument your existing APK files to automating your mobile test flows as there are some enhancements from Plugin side in OpKey (5.52) release.
Show pCloudy Apps in OpKey Web
While working on the Application Management under the Mobile Management in OpKey Web, now you can add new applications (Android or iOS) directly from pCloudy. You need to click on the Add new application(s) from pCloudy button showing on the Application Management window, log in to the pCloudy dashboard & then select your desired application from the list and then upload it. You must ensure that you have your account on pCloudy and uploaded required application(s).
- Click on the Add new application(s) from pCloudy button.
- Select your app showing in your pCloudy account.
UsedBy in Application Management:
There is a new button UsedBy added in the Application Management in this release. It provides you the detailed information about the selected application where it has been used. UsedBy table information includes Name, Full Path, Description and Component Type as column names.
Here are some special characters which are not allowed to be used in the name of files to be uploaded in Mobile Management. These special characters are !, -, _, ., *, ‘, (, and ). Moreover, here are some other characters which should be avoided in file names; they are \, {, Non-printable ASCII characters (128–255 decimal characters), ^, }, %, /, `, ], >, [, ~, <, #, |, and *.
(2) Device Management:
Here, you can manage your online/offline Mobile device(s) for testing.
- Click on ‘Register iOS Device Manually’ button to add register iOS device manually.
- Click on ‘Save’ button to save all the changes done.
- Click on ‘Refresh grid’ button to refresh grid of online/offline devices.
- Type name of your application in ‘Search Bar’ to be searched from the list of online/offline devices.
- Click on ‘Fetch devices connected to’ select name of OpKey Execution Agent from the dropdown list of online agents corresponding to the connected device.
Mobile Device used in Modules in Device Management:
Mobile Device used in Modules is a new button added under the Action column of devices on the Device Management page. When you click on Mobile Device used in Modules button, you get UsedBy information about the selected application where it has been used. This information is displayed in a tabular format which includes Name, Full Path, Description and Component Type column names.
