6.1 Overview


What is a Business Process?

Business Process refers to the collection of one or more pre-built Business Components that can be used across different Test Cases.

* It cannot be executed Individually.

Once you have created any Business Process, it can be easily modified and reused repetitively.


For example:

Let’s Suppose you are an Admin of an Enterprise Application say, Workday. Your requirement is to add a new user having valid login credentials and assign privileges to him.

For this purpose, you can create a Business Process for by calling the pre-built Business Component for adding a new user into it.

Once, the Business Component is added to the Business Process, you can add another pre-built Business Component for assign privileges to the User.

Likewise, You can add other Business Components to the Business Processes depending upon the requirement of the Test Scenario.


Working on a Business Process File and Performing Actions on it

Go to OpKey Test Surge Dashboard

 

Click on Business Process Designer.

 

A Business Process window will get open.



Now, let us learn how to create a Business Process in the OpKey Surge.

Creating a Business Process File

To add a new Business Process

  • Right Click on the Folder  and Select Create Business Process or Click on the “+” Sign placed on the top of the search bar.

  • A pop-up window will get open.

  • The field marked with * is mandatory.  Enter the Name of the Business Process.
  • Also, Enter the description of the Business Process. Click on Create.

Step Details

While working with the Business Process in OpKey Surge, you can view details of the selected Component within the Business Process module. It includes the Step Information where you can read the brief summary of the Selected Component.

With the help of the Step Details window, you can view the Data Input Arguments involved in the Component including its Data Type, Name, and Mapped Data.

Let’s see what are the actions that can be performed on the Business Process File.

Create a Copy

You can create a duplicate file for the Selected Business Component.

To do so Right, Click on the Selected Business Component File and Select Create Copy Option.

 

A Duplicate file will be created for the selected Business Component.

Sync

You can Synchronize the Data of the Selected Business Process(es) of one Project with another. To do so-

Case 1:Selecting a Business Process for Synchronization

  • Select the appropriate Business Process file in the Manage Component window.

OR

  Right Click on the Selected Business Process File and Select Sync Option.

OR

  Click on the Sync icon.

Enter the fields marked with * and proceed to sync.

  In this way, the data from one Project can be Synchronized with the Data of another Project for the selected Business Process.

Export

You can Export the Selected Business Process(es) to a win.rar Zip File. To do so-

Selected Business Process File

  • Select the appropriate Business Process file in the Manage Business Process window.
  • Click on Export Tab.

OR

Right Click on the Selected Business Process File and Select Export Option.

 

OR

Click on the Export icon.

  • win.rar Zip File will get exported.

In this way, you can Export the Selected Business Process(es) in the OpKey Test Surge.

Open in New Tab

You can Select a Business Process and then Open it in New Tab. To do so-

  Right Click on the Selected Business Process and Select Open in New Tab Option.

 

 

Delete

You can Select a Business Process and then Delete it. To do so-

Right Click on the Selected Business Process and Select Delete Option.

A pop-up window will get open as

Click OK. The Selected Business Process will get Deleted and the Message “Artifact Deleted Successfully” will get displayed. In this way, you can successfully delete a Business Process in the OpKey Test Surge.

Rename

You can Select a Business Process and then Modify its name. To do so-

  • Click on the “Rename” Icon.

A pop-up window will get open as

Click Yes.

The Business Process will get Updated Successfully, and a message “Business Process Updated Successfully” will be displayed on the screen. In this way, you can successfully Rename a Business Process in the OpKey Test Surge.

Search

You can search for a specific Business Process (es) by its Name or the Name of the Label to which the
Business Process (es) is assigned in the Search Box [depending on the Type of View Selected]. To do so-

  • You can also Type the Keywords related to the Name of the Business Process in the Search Box. Still, the Search will begin and the Business Process (es) will get filtered accordingly.

In this way, you can successfully search for a specific Business Process (es) in the OpKey Test Surge.
